No one seems has heard of this band, but Green Police actually have made of what they called ‘Making Punk a Threat Again†with their powerful and up-front lyrics and catchy guitar hooks. Emerged in the 80s, Green Police consisted of punk quartet with straight forward attitude out from the downtown Oklahoma.

Talking about Green Police we cannot forget to mention The Buzzcocks and The New York Dolls. Although it is not fully imitating, but we can clearly heard that Buzzcocks crispy riffs in some of Green Police singles. The band derives from those 70s era punk bands majored by the Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Ramones, and so on. What makes it more special is that, Green Police also combined some elements from the Generation X as well as those lo-fi garage bands. This makes Green Police richer in sounds without forgetting their roots.

Earlier bands like The Misfits helped to form what American punk is and so did Green Police. Although once again, people would not recognized them as important figures in punk culture, Green Police helped to raise the punk culture in their own way. At least, their holy mission was about to bring the real American music to the world - something that is missing in nowadays so-called garage bands.
